2025 Super Bowl predictions
Chiefs
Top odds: +750 on FanDuel and BetMGM.
Although there are still seven months remaining until the start of the next NFL season, I am confident in predicting that the Chiefs will be a major focus of my writing. I believe they are the early favorites to win Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
After witnessing Kansas City’s performance this past season, it’s hard to doubt their ability to continue their dynastic run. Despite some lackluster moments in the regular season, the duo of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes has consistently come through, even when the rest of the team seems to be struggling.
Both players will return next season, along with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who is proving himself as one of the greatest defensive coaches in history. His team is expected to be championship contenders next season, regardless of any changes in free agency. Just imagine how much better the offense could be with improved pass-catchers.
Despite their struggles in the 2023 NFL season, the Chiefs’ championship odds remained relatively stable on our top sports betting apps. This decision by oddsmakers proved to be wise, leading me to confidently place a bet now at a low price that may turn out to be the best opportunity of the season.

Bengals

In two of the past three seasons, the Bengals made it to the AFC Championship, and in the 2021-22 season, they came close to winning the Super Bowl despite having one of the weakest offensive lines among championship contenders in recent history. This highlights the skill of Joe Burrow, who has consistently lifted up his teammates.
Burrow’s injury, caused by ongoing protection issues, hindered the Bengals from making a serious run to the 2024 Super Bowl. With nearly $70 million available, the team can now focus on rebuilding their leaky offensive line and strengthening their defense, which is still under the leadership of elite coordinator Lou Anarumo.
Cincinnati is facing a decision regarding receiver Tee Higgins, but the team already boasts superstar wideout Ja’Marr Chase, who has consistently dominated the Chiefs’ secondary. Additionally, the team may opt to select a receiver from the deep pool of talent in the 2024 draft, unless they decide to use their pick on one of the top offensive tackles available in this year’s class.
Don’t overlook the fact that Burrow is the only QB besides Tom Brady who has defeated Mahomes in the playoffs. My prediction is that Mahomes will come out on top again in 2024-25, but with these odds, I plan to support the Bengals as well.

Cowboys
Top odds available at +2000 on DraftKings.
While it may be entertaining to poke fun at the Cowboys, they were one of the top teams in the NFL in 2023. I anticipate they will continue to excel in 2024 as well.
Dallas had a strong regular season, ranking third in net EPA/play and fourth in DVOA. This success was largely due to an exceptional performance from Dak Prescott and a standout showing from their star-studded defense. Despite defensive coordinator Dan Quinn leaving for division rival Washington, I anticipate that the team will still perform well under Mike Zimmer, who previously built a nearly elite defense in Dallas during the early 2000s.
With Prescott’s extension looming, the team has the opportunity to enhance their roster by restructuring his salary to create cap space for the offseason. Despite a strong performance in 2023, the team is looking to build upon their success and gain an edge following the disappointing end to last season.
Yes, even though Mike McCarthy’s coaching in the playoffs is questionable, Kyle Shanahan’s in-game management skills are not much better. However, his team is close to winning the 2024 Super Bowl and with odds of 20/1, it’s a great opportunity to bet on one of the most talented teams in the league.

Best 2025 Super Bowl long shots
Chargers
Highest chances of winning: +3300 on BetRivers
In my initial assessment of the 2025 Super Bowl opening odds, I singled out the Chargers as a potential sleeper pick. Despite having a top-tier quarterback and a highly successful coach, they are still being offered at odds as high as 33/1, which seems like a missed opportunity.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh and the new regime have a lot of work ahead to improve the roster and trim nearly $40 million in payroll this summer. Despite this challenge, QB Justin Herbert is performing well, with odds of +1200 to win NFL MVP, although his team is considered a long shot to win the Super Bowl.
I don’t understand that, and I wouldn’t be shocked if this price is long forgotten by the start of the 2024 season.

Rams
DraftKings offers the best odds at +3500.
The Rams were underestimated by the entire league in the 2023 NFL season, and that perception persists as they look ahead to next season. Matthew Stafford finished the year strong and may be approaching his final season, setting the stage for an exciting “one last ride” narrative for the team in 2024.
Last year, the Los Angeles offense resembled a typical Sean McVay team, particularly with the standout performances of wide receiver Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Williams, who have the potential to excel even more in the upcoming season. Additionally, the Rams have a significant amount of cap space and a first-round draft pick for the first time in five years, which could aid in enhancing a defense that lacked depth in the previous season.
Falcons
Top odds: +5000 on FanDuel
This is definitely my top pick for a long-shot bet going into the 2024 NFL season, and it could be my favorite overall bet for a team that is primed for success.
The primary concern lies with the quarterback position for this team. Since they have the eighth pick, it’s unlikely they can draft a top-tier prospect. Therefore, it is anticipated that the Falcons will seek a free-agent quarterback, with Kirk Cousins being a potential solution following his impressive performance in the first half of the 2023 season.
After the team hired Raheem Morris as the head coach, the rumors quieted down. Cousins has a previous relationship with Morris from their time together in Washington for three years. Additionally, the new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is anticipated to run a similar offense to the one Cousins experienced under Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, who is also a disciple of Sean McVay, over the last two seasons.
Cousins has strong connections to the area, with his wife born in Atlanta and the couple getting married there in 2014. If Cousins chooses to sign with the Falcons, these odds will disappear quickly, so it’s best not to delay placing your bet.
