Super Bowl SGP predictions
Chiefs ML (+100) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Every successful SGP begins with the selection of the game itself, and we are supporting the Chiefs to secure their third Super Bowl victory in the past five seasons.
The initial game was played against the 49ers, whose defense was significantly stronger in 2020 compared to their current level heading into Sunday’s matchup. San Francisco is currently ranked 28th in PFF defensive grade since Week 15 and allowed 442 yards and 28 first downs to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship.
I believe Mahomes and his team will have a successful game on Sunday, but I have doubts about 49ers QB Brock Purdy making his debut in the championship game against the Chiefs. The Chiefs had the second-best pressure rate in the NFL during the regular season, and Purdy has had difficulties when facing pressure. It wouldn’t be surprising if he makes a costly mistake that determines the outcome of the game.
If you are considering placing a bet on the Kansas City moneyline by itself, I would recommend avoiding the market-worst price at DraftKings. Patrick Mahomes Over 25.5 completions (+100) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mahomes was expected to face the biggest challenge of his career last week against the legendary Baltimore Ravens defense. However, he expertly dismantled the unit with precise short passes and accurate deep throws, completing 30 out of 39 attempts for 241 yards and a touchdown.
This was not a random occurrence influenced by the flow of the game or a sudden change in tactics. It was a carefully planned strategy to counter the Ravens’ zone defense, which focused on limiting deep passes but left openings for short completions. I anticipate a similar game plan against the 49ers, who also heavily utilize zone coverage (63%) and give up a high number of completions per game (24).
Kansas City is dealing with injuries on their offensive line, which may lead them to rely more on quick passing plays, screens, and jet sweeps to supplement their running game. This matchup suggests that Mahomes will have a busy day in his fourth Super Bowl appearance.

Travis Kelce anytime TD (-110) ⭐⭐⭐
I am tempted to overlook Kelce amidst all the hype surrounding the Chiefs player and his famous girlfriend, who is the center of attention for the ongoing Taylor Swift Super Bowl prop bets and our Swiftie Bingo Challenge. However, I cannot deny that the 34-year-old tight end has a favorable matchup ahead.
Kelce is extremely difficult to cover in man-to-man situations, but he is nearly unstoppable in zone coverage. This was evident in his performance last week against the Ravens, where he had 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. This came after his two-touchdown game in the NFL Divisional Round.
As previously stated, the 49ers frequently use zone coverage, making it challenging to defend against Kelce. The officiating crew for Sunday’s game typically allows players to determine the outcome on the field, which bodes well for the physical 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end, particularly in the red zone.
In the fourth quarter of the epic comeback win over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes and Kelce linked up for the first of three Chiefs touchdowns.
