With the exception of a handful of years, we have seen the majority of winning coaches getting soaked in Gatorade after most Super Bowls ever since the tradition began at Super Bowl 21 in 1987. From Super Bowl 35 onwards, almost every coach, barring a few instances with Bill Belichick, has embraced the Gatorade bath.

Let’s examine the distribution of Super Bowl Gatorade bath colors for winning teams:

  • Clear: 8
  • Orange: 6
  • Blue: 4
  • None: 4
  • Purple: 4
  • Yellow: 3

Super Bowl Gatorade color betting tips

There are limits to how much you can improve your odds here, but there are a few factors to keep in mind if you want to give yourself even a slight advantage.

  • Consider following beat writers from both Super Bowl teams in the days leading up to the game. They might either address the Gatorade topic with their own knowledge of the subject (based on their proximity to the team), or it might come up during one of their interviews.
  • Make note of any color match potential that exists with the Super Bowl finalists.
  • If you’re still in doubt, go with blue! Not only has it been the winning color three out of the past five years, but it also happens to be the best-selling Gatorade flavor overall.
