With the San Francisco 49ers out of the NFL playoffs, they are now the frontrunners to sign future Hall-of-Fame QB Tom Brady in the upcoming offseason. Check out our NFL predictions for which team Brady will join next based on the top NFL odds.

Could Tom Brady be done playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? The 45-year-old quarterback had a challenging season, both on and off the field, and now has the opportunity to explore free agency for only the second time in his career.

Following a disappointing 8-9 season that concluded with a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round on Monday night, the question remains: will Brady return to Tampa Bay, retire from football, or seek a new team?

These are our top predictions for Tom Brady’s next team, with odds from DraftKings and confidence ratings ranging from 1 to 5 stars.

Take a look at our top NFL bets and Super Bowl odds for 2023.

Tom Brady next team picks

San Francisco 49ers (+150)

Recently, some sportsbooks have created a market for the 49ers’ Week 1 starting quarterback, with Brady as the favorite. DraftKings’ pricing in this market also indicates that San Francisco has a 40.00% implied probability of signing the hometown star.

The Niners have connections to Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance, and Brock Purdy, but after falling one win short of reaching Super Bowl 57, they are likely to be fully committed to seeking an upgrade at the quarterback position.

Las Vegas Raiders (+175) ⭐⭐⭐

The Buccaneers are currently favored in the betting odds to keep Brady on their team, but this season has shown that Tampa Bay is not the same title contender as in previous years. Brady’s relationship with the Buccaneers receivers has deteriorated, he lacks confidence in the struggling offensive line, and the defense has not been able to perform consistently. The team has too many issues to fix on their struggling ship.

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to be contenders if Brady decides to move on to a new team. In the past, the Raiders were aggressively pursuing Brady during free agency, but the deal was ultimately blocked by former head coach Jon Gruden.

Was the Raiders’ decision to part ways with quarterback Derek Carr influenced by their intention to target Brady in free agency? It’s worth noting that head coach Josh McDaniels previously worked with Brady as his offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots.

In Las Vegas, Brady would have the luxury of throwing to All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, standout tight end Darren Waller, and slot ace Hunter Renfrow. Additionally, if the team decides to re-sign All-Pro rusher Josh Jacobs, they could have one of the best running games in the league.

According to Over the Cap, the team is projected to have over $34 million in available cap space this offseason, which could be used to address the major work needed on the offensive line and defense, both of which ranked poorly in the league.

Brady is rumored to have a preference for the West Coast. If the team focuses on improving the offensive line and defense, Las Vegas could be the perfect destination for him.

I give this a three-star rating because retirement is still on the horizon. Brady, who will be 46 next season, already has a well-paying broadcasting job waiting for him when he decides to retire.

Editor’s note: As of Friday, Jan. 27, the Raiders have the best odds available at +150 through DraftKings.

Miami Dolphins (+750) ⭐⭐⭐

Following the favorites, the San Francisco 49ers and the Patriots are next in line. The Niners boast a championship-caliber roster and the added allure of being Brady’s childhood team. However, they may already have their quarterback situation sorted with Brock Purdy and Trey Lance.

The Patriots have a compelling narrative, but Brady is still searching for the offensive weapons he desires.

This leads us to Miami, where the Dolphins boast one of the most talented offensive rosters in the league, led by innovative head coach Mike McDaniel. Additionally, owner Stephen Ross faced a suspension and $1.5 million fine for attempting to recruit Tom Brady while he was still with the Buccaneers.

McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier have stated that Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be the starting quarterback next season, pending his full recovery from multiple concussions that ended his 2022-23 season prematurely.

If Tagovailoa needs to take a break for his health, you’ll be glad you have a +750 ticket in hand.
