Tom Brady Next Team Predictions: 49ers Favored to Land the GOAT

After being eliminated from the NFL playoffs, the San Francisco 49ers are now the frontrunners to sign future Hall-of-Fame QB Tom Brady in the offseason. Check out our NFL predictions for which team Brady will join next, based on the top NFL odds.
Could Tom Brady be done playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? The 45-year-old quarterback had a challenging season, both on and off the field, and is now able to explore free agency for just the second time in his career.
Following a disappointing 8-9 season that concluded with a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round on Monday night, the question remains: Will Brady return to Tampa Bay, retire, or seek a new team?
Below are our top selections for Tom Brady’s future team (odds provided by DraftKings; confidence level indicated by a 1 to 5 star rating).

Tom Brady next team picks
San Francisco 49ers (+150)
Recently, certain sportsbooks have opened a market for the 49ers’ Week 1 starting quarterback, with Brady being the top choice. This aligns with DraftKings’ odds, which suggest San Francisco has a 40.00% chance of signing the local hero.
The Niners are connected to Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance, and Brock Purdy, but with their near miss at making it to Super Bowl 57, they are likely to be fully committed to securing an upgrade at the quarterback position.
Las Vegas Raiders (+175) ⭐⭐⭐
The Buccaneers are currently the frontrunners in the betting odds to keep Brady on their team, but this season has shown that Tampa Bay is not the championship contender it once was. Brady’s relationship with the Bucs receivers has deteriorated, he lacks confidence in the struggling offensive line, and the defense is not performing up to expectations. There are too many weaknesses in this team that need to be addressed.
If Brady decides to explore other opportunities, the Las Vegas Raiders are likely to show interest. In a previous free agency period, the Raiders were aggressively pursuing Brady until former head coach Jon Gruden ultimately stopped the negotiations.
Did the Raiders part ways with quarterback Derek Carr in hopes of signing Brady in free agency, considering that head coach Josh McDaniels previously worked with Brady as his offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots?
If Brady were in Vegas, he would have top-tier receiver Davante Adams, standout tight end Darren Waller, and slot specialist Hunter Renfrow as his targets. Additionally, if the team retains All-Pro rusher Josh Jacobs, they could boast one of the best running games in the league.
According to Over the Cap, the team is projected to have over $34 million in available cap space this offseason, which could be used to address the offensive line and defense, both of which need major work. The defense ranked 28th in the league and the offensive line also needs improvement.
Brady reportedly has a preference for the West Coast and Las Vegas could be the perfect destination if the team improves the O-Line and defense.
I rate this as a three-star pick because retirement is still a strong possibility. Brady, who will be 46 next season, already has a lucrative broadcasting opportunity waiting for him when he decides to hang up his cleats.
Editor’s note: As of Friday, Jan. 27, the Raiders have the best odds available at +150 through DraftKings.
Miami Dolphins (+750) ⭐⭐⭐
Following closely behind in the odds are the San Francisco 49ers and the Patriots. The Niners boast a talented roster and the added allure of being Brady’s childhood team, but they may have already solidified their quarterback situation with Brock Purdy and Trey Lance.
The Patriots may have the most compelling storyline, but they are still missing the offensive weapons that Brady is looking for.
This brings us to Miami, where the Dolphins boast one of the most impressive offensive rosters in the league, led by innovative head coach Mike McDaniel. Owner Stephen Ross faced a suspension and a $1.5 million fine for attempting to recruit Brady while he was still with the Buccaneers.
McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier have stated that Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be the starting quarterback next season, barring any health setbacks following his shortened 2022-23 season due to multiple concussions.
If Tagovailoa needs to take a break for his health, you’ll be glad you have a +750 ticket.
