Boston aims to extend its lead in the first-round series against Toronto, as we provide our top predictions and expert picks for the Bruins vs. Maple Leafs matchup using the most favorable NHL odds available.

The Boston Bruins (47-20-15) have taken a 2-1 series lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs (46-26-10) as they have alternated wins in the first three games. The next game is scheduled for Saturday.

Boston dominated Game 1, but Toronto came back strong in Game 2 with a close 3-2 win, improving their chances of winning the Stanley Cup.

Regrettably, the Maple Leafs secure a victory at home in Game 3 and are aiming to tie the series on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (TBS, Sportsnet) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.

The Maple Leafs are listed as -120 favorites on the moneyline at our top sports betting sites.

Below are our top predictions for the Bruins vs. Maple Leafs matchup, along with our NHL picks (odds sourced from our top NHL betting sites). We have assigned a confidence level to each pick on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions for Saturday

Max Domi Over 1.5 shots on goal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In the first three games of the series, Max Domi has contributed one goal, two assists, and has taken a total of 10 shots on goal. His shot count increased each game, with three in Game 1, two in Game 2, and an impressive five in Game 3 at home. This consistent performance is not surprising considering Domi’s tendency to have over 1.5 shots on goal in six out of seven April games at the end of the regular season.

Even though Domi is only on the second power-play unit, there is a possibility that the secondary group may get more playing time due to the struggles of the top five players. In his last 10 games since April 1, he has surpassed 1.5 shots on goal in nine of them.

I am also thinking about betting on Over 2.5 shots on goal at +150. He has achieved 3 or more SOG in three out of seven games at the end of the regular season, and has done so in two out of three games in this series.

Betway offers the best odds at -195.

William Nylander anytime goalscorer ⭐⭐⭐

It seems likely that William Nylander will make his return to the lineup on Saturday night after sitting out the first three games of the series because of reported migraine problems. He participated fully in practice on Wednesday, and his presence should give a boost to the Maple Leafs’ offense.

Nylander achieved his second consecutive 40-goal season this year. Despite ending the season on a cold streak, he quickly found his rhythm in last year’s playoffs, scoring a goal in each of the first two games to make a strong impact against the Lightning.

Maple Leafs ML vs. Bruins ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nylander is expected to make his return on Saturday night, and Matthews should also be feeling improved after dealing with illness and potential food poisoning earlier in the week.

The Maple Leafs will have some key players returning for a crucial home game on Saturday night. While trailing 3-1 in a series can be challenging to overcome, the Leafs have seen it done before with the Florida Panthers last year. However, tying the series at 2-2 before heading back to Boston would greatly boost the Leafs’ confidence.

The Leafs have dominated the expected goals share at 5-on-5 with 54.60% (according to Natural Stat Trick) and their power play is due to start producing results. With a discounted price, now is the perfect opportunity to bet on the desperate Leafs team playing at home.
