Saturday’s NHL player props

Brandon Hagel to record a point vs. Flyers (-140 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hagel has established himself as a reliable scorer for the Tampa Bay Lightning, consistently producing on the top line alongside Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov.

Hagel was scoreless in two out of his last three games, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets back on the scoresheet. His first game without a point since January 11 was last Thursday’s loss to Buffalo, ending his impressive 18-game point streak where he racked up 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists).

The -140 odds on DraftKings suggest a 58.33% chance of Hagel scoring a point on Saturday. He has achieved this in 42 out of 64 games (65.62%) prior to the weekend, including both games against the Flyers.

Dylan Strome to record an assist vs. Blackhawks (+120 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Strome has capitalized on the Capitals’ challenges at center, stepping up in the absence of Nicklas Backstrom and the recently traded Evgeny Kuznetsov who have both faced extended periods of time off the ice.

Strome has accumulated 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) so far this season, but his campaign began in an unusual way. He scored seven goals before registering his first assist in the 15th game of the year.

Since that time, Strome has been sharing the puck with 28 assists in 47 games (59.57%). Lately, he has been on fire, recording an assist in three consecutive games and eight out of his nine recent contests following a three-assist performance in Pittsburgh.

The Capitals are expected to score a few goals against the Blackhawks, with Strome likely playing a key role in the offense.

Saturday’s NHL game picks

Blues vs. Rangers Under 6 (-112 via betPARX) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Blues and the Blueshirts are both facing two consecutive losses and are expected to be focused on Saturday night in New York. The matchup between goalies Jordan Binnington and Igor Shesterkin promises to be a competitive battle, with both players having solid stats and Shesterkin allowing 13 goals in eight indoor games since the All-Star break.

Lately, the Blues have shown strong defensive play and solid goaltending, but they have struggled to score goals. They have only managed to score 13 goals in their last seven games and 21 in their last 10. Luckily, Binnington has been exceptional in goal, helping the team secure some wins.

He has the potential to repeat that performance tonight against a Rangers team whose scoring has slowed down. They managed to score four goals against the Blue Jackets recently, but have only netted 13 goals in their last five games.

Both teams have been struggling to score lately, and the goalies have been playing well. Anticipate a low-scoring game in New York this evening.

Canucks ML vs. Jets (-137 via betPARX) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Canucks seem to have regained their momentum with a strong showing on the road. They dominated the Ducks, Kings, and Golden Knights, only allowing one goal in each game, bouncing back from a rough patch. Vancouver has now won four out of their last six games, with a record of 4-1-1.

The Jets have been successful recently and throughout the season, but they face a tough challenge after facing the Kraken in Seattle on Friday night. Connor Hellebuyck is expected to play despite battling an illness, but the Vezina Trophy favorite may not be at full strength.

Regardless of the outcome, the Canucks have shown impressive performance at home with a record of 20-6-3. After winning in Vegas on Thursday night, they had a day off on Friday. Bet on the well-rested home team in Vancouver tonight.

NHL top picks placed at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday.
