Raptors vs. Heat prop bet predictions

Jimmy Butler Over 20.5 points (-105 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐

While Butler’s performance this season may not have been his best, he always seems to elevate his game come playoff time. In 2023, he played a crucial role in leading the Heat to the NBA Finals, despite the team having to qualify for the playoffs through the play-in tournament.

Can he replicate this performance to improve Miami’s chances of winning the NBA Championship in 2024? He must view this game against Toronto as an opportunity to bounce back.

The Raptors have one of the worst defensive records in the NBA, allowing an average of 118.7 points per game and ranking 26th in defensive rating at 121.6. They particularly struggle against wing players like Butler, giving up the most points per game to small forwards at 23.96. Despite Butler’s recent low scoring game of 12 points against Dallas, he has been averaging 21.0 points per game and has scored at least 21 points in three of his last four games.

The odds at Betway are offering good value, possibly because of Butler’s inconsistent performance this season. With odds at -105, there is a 51.22% chance that Butler will exceed the set benchmark, as calculated by our odds calculator. Placing a $10 bet on this proposition would yield a $9.52 profit if Butler scores 21 points or more.

Bam Adebayo Over 10.5 rebounds (-115 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Raptors have difficulty defending against nearly every position, but they particularly struggle against the positions played by Miami’s All-Star players.

As Butler is scoring points, Adebayo can dominate the boards against Toronto. The Raptors will be missing their top two rebounders, Jakob Poeltl (finger) and Scottie Barnes (hand), which could be detrimental for a team that has difficulty securing rebounds.

Toronto is currently averaging the sixth lowest number of rebounds per game at 38.8, with the second lowest number of defensive rebounds at 27.9. This has led to Darko Rajakovic’s team surrendering the ninth highest number of rebounds per game at 41.2, including the third highest number of offensive rebounds at 11.3.

Adebayo’s average of 10.5 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season suggests he could easily grab 11 rebounds against the Toronto team, which is allowing the third-highest number of rebounds per game to centers (15.92).

This is why the odds are set at -115 on Betway, indicating a 53.49% chance of Adebayo getting at least 11 rebounds. A $10 bet would result in an $18.70 payout if he achieves this.

RJ Barrett Under 19.5 points (-111 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐

The Miami Heat may be currently in the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference and possibly needing the play-in tournament to secure a spot in the NBA playoffs, but they have one of the strongest defenses in the league. Holding opponents to just 108.5 points per game (fourth fewest) and boasting the fifth-best defensive rating in the NBA (114.9), the Heat will present a tough challenge for the Raptors’ leading scorer, RJ Barrett, especially with Barnes out of the lineup.

Barrett is expected to start at the power forward position for the Raptors, but Miami’s defense excels against power forwards, allowing the fourth fewest points in the NBA (21.52). Barrett primarily scores inside the arc, where the Heat defense is strong, holding opponents to the fourth-fewest 2-pointers per game (27.2).

Placing a $10 bet with -111 odds on Betway means that if Miami can prevent Barrett from scoring over 20 points, the payout will be $19.01. There is a 52.61% chance that the Heat will succeed in doing so.
