Home run leader 2024 favorite
Aaron Judge (+700 via FanDuel)
Judge’s biggest challenge is maintaining his health. In 2023, he appeared in just 106 games but managed to hit close to 40 home runs. Despite the perception that Judge is injury-prone, he played in 157 games in 2022 and 148 in 2021.
Furthermore, Judge was sidelined last season due to an unusual injury sustained while colliding with an outfield wall in an attempt to make a catch.
If Judge can stay healthy in 2024, he will definitely prove that his current price is worth it. Just a couple of years ago, he set the AL record by hitting 62 homers in a single season.
Home run leader odds 2024: Contender
Matt Olson (+900 via FanDuel)
How can we overlook the current champion as a competitor? Olson was the sole player in 2023 to achieve over 50 home runs, outpacing second-place Kyle Schwarber by seven.
Olson’s 2023 campaign showcased his true potential after moving from Oakland to the hitter-friendly Truist Park in Atlanta. As a big lefty, he is expected to be a consistent threat to lead the league in home runs all season long.
Home run leader odds 2024: Long shot
Bryce Harper (+6000 via FanDuel)
After undergoing Tommy John surgery, the Philadelphia Phillies’ new first baseman initially had difficulty hitting for power. Bryce Harper hit only three home runs in 56 games, but he improved dramatically in the second half of the season, hitting 18 home runs in 70 games. He continued his success in the postseason, adding five more home runs.
Harper has never topped the league in home runs, but he is always a threat with his power hitting. His switch to first base permanently could benefit him even more, as he will be able to focus less on defense and more on his hitting.
Home run leader odds movement
The leading names in this market have remained consistent since December on our top sports betting sites, although there have been some adjustments in odds.
The biggest change in odds is connected to Juan Soto, likely because he switched to the Yankees and now plays in a stadium that favors hitters. Soto’s odds have dropped from +3000 to approximately +900.
FanDuel has the most favorable odds, particularly for the favorites. They offer the best standalone price for three out of the top five sluggers, whereas Draftkings has the least favorable odds for three out of the top five batters.
FanDuel is offering an attractive price of +700 for the front-runner Judge, which is significantly higher than the next best option of +400 from other sources.
