Since the start of the season, there has been a significant shift in the MLB landscape. The Tampa Bay Rays, once considered the third-best team in their division, now boast the best record in baseball. The question now is whether they can maintain this remarkable pace. Check out our analysis of the 2023 MLB best record odds on our top sports betting apps.

Although Tampa Bay showed dominance in the first quarter of the MLB regular season, it is now the Atlanta Braves who lead the league in wins.

The Texas Rangers have unexpectedly emerged as the front-runners in the AL West, surprising many.

Taking that into consideration, we present our analysis of the MLB best record odds for the 2023 season, along with our top selections (odds sourced from our recommended MLB betting sites).

MLB best record odds analysis

Out of our top sports betting apps, only DraftKings and bet365 provide this market.

Six out of the top 10 teams on the oddsboard are from the American League, with four of them hailing from the AL East. The Rays reached 50 wins first due to their impressive start, but the Braves have now become the favorites after a remarkable run of form.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have the second-lowest odds among NL teams, while the Orioles are ranked second in the AL.

MLB best record odds 2023: Favorite

Atlanta Braves (-330 via DraftKings)

I placed a bet on the Braves to have the best regular-season record in baseball at +600 before the season started. However, the current odds represent a significant decrease from the preseason price. It now seems challenging to consider betting on the Braves as the odds are heavily in favor of them.

Despite dealing with several injuries, the Atlanta Braves have the best record in baseball so far. They are playing at an incredibly high level and appear to be unstoppable in their current form. It is likely that they will make additional improvements before the trade deadline.

MLB best record odds 2023: Contender

Baltimore Orioles (+5000 via bet365)

The Orioles keep promoting their prospects, indicating that the organization believes any player capable of contributing to the team deserves a spot in the major leagues.

Baltimore’s main obstacle is its pitching, but there is hope for improvement through trades before the deadline. The team has potential to exceed expectations and potentially win the AL East.

MLB best record odds: Long shot

Texas Rangers (+8000 via DraftKings)

The Rangers have established themselves as one of the top teams in baseball this season, ranking second in run differential, first in hitting fWAR, and 10th in pitching fWAR. Despite missing All-Star shortstop Corey Seager for about 30 games, they have managed to maintain their strong performance.

Many doubted whether Texas’ commitment to spending big on flashy free agents would improve the team, but they have proven that paying good players leads to winning games.

Given the Rangers’ strong track record, it is surprising that they are trading at such low odds. Now is a great opportunity to capitalize on this undervalued price.

MLB best record odds 2023: Fade

New York Yankees (+8000 via DraftKings)

Do the Yankees have what it takes to be considered a strong team? They are ranked just below the top 20 in hitting and pitching fWAR, and have the 15th-best run differential in baseball. Despite this, their odds for success are surprisingly low.

The Yankees are currently missing Aaron Judge for an indefinite period, and he accounts for 2.8 out of New York’s total 9.6 batter fWAR.

New York’s performance in the first 91 games has been lackluster, and all signs point to it getting worse in the future.
